My Mamiya C220!

Hello!

I’m back! I guess everyone is feeling the same as I am, can’t wait for 2010 to come! 2009 hasn’t really been kind and well for me, so I’m very much looking forward to 2010. =)

Today I’m going to introduce my new toy! Mamiya C220! It is such a beauty, Photos taken with this camera will be uploaded soon! The main reason for me getting this Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) is to explore more about film processing and portrait shoots.

TLR operates with two objective lenses sharing the same focal length. One of the lenses takes the picture while the other is used as a viewfinder. Mamiya C220 was produced in 1957. This TLR uses 120/220 films. It is also the only conventional TLR that offers the capability of lens changing. Mamiya TLR are known for snapping extreme close-ups because it allows bellows focusing.

Currently, the lens that was equipped to my Mamaiya is a Blue dot Mamiya-sekor 80mm f2.8 with Seikosha-S Shutter of 1 to 1/500.
Photos taken with the camera will be up soon! =)

Here’s how my Mamiya C220 looks like:

The Cutest Camera ever!

Howdy!

I’m going to introduce a cute rangefinder today. That’s Argus C3! It is a compact and sturdy rangefinder. Further more it was being ranked as the best-selling camera for nearly 3 decades!  This affordable rangefinder was produced from 1939 to 1966 in USA.

Bakelite plastic and metal castings were the primarily materials that were used for the construction of Argus C3. Personally, I am intrigue by the C3 distinctive and out of the ordinary design. This 35mm camera preserves a high nostalgia value. It is both durable and easy to repair.

Some even consider Argus C3 as the camera that made the use of 35mm film popular!

Here’s the cute and affordable Argus C3!

My Favourtie Photographer

Henri Cartier-Bresson

My all time favourite photographer!

Henri Cartier-Bresson(1908 – 2004), born in France, a very famous and well-know photographer. He is also known as the father of photojournalism, his work captivates the essence of freedom, elegance and naturalness. Often seen with a Leica in his hand, he captures entrancing and fascinating photos that continue to attract people’s attention.

You might be surprise! Henri Cartier-Bresson began as a painter! He studied painting at a private art school and the Lhote Academy under the influence of his uncle. His passion and love for photography started when he saw a photo by a Hungarian photojournalist, Martin Munkacsi. The photo was caught at lake Tanganyika in near-silhouette showing three naked young African boys running into the surf.

To him photography is like instant drawing, the ability to capture eternity in an instant. Henri Cartier-Bresson has influenced many generations of photographer.

Here are some of his famous works:
